His dearest wish was to change his past.
If only he ever had the opportunity to go to the past and change that detail,
everything would be different. Better.
Never man had repented a past act that much. He was living with the
obsession of changing that deed that has changed his life to that extent.
When he found out how to go back to the moment preceding what he
considered was the biggest mistake of his existence, he didn’t hesitate and
grabbed that opportunity.
He went to the past and changed it. But he could not come back, because
that change had made him disappear.
