Corroded

He would have never suspected a human being could endure so much pain.
How used would his soul, his self be?

A quick glance had been enough. Eyes can’t lie. He had seen true pain in those eyes for the first time.
But beyond all that, he saw goodness. Infinite goodness, and the earnest wish to be accepted.
How could such a person be rejected by his fellow beings? Be that miserable despite being pure kindness?

At that moment he understood the real meaning of the word injustice. Unfair.

Trough that plain exchange of glances he was able to picture what that creature had to endure, and his mind couldn’t bear what his imagination was suggesting to him.

He couldn’t fight his feelings and started shedding tears. He cried as if his body was being emptied of all his tears, as if he wanted to compensate all the tears that person was unable to shed during his lifetime.
